b) What was the main item on the agenda during President Buhari’s meeting with President Trump?
c) What additional problem in Nigeria did President Trump address?
d) Most media reports on President Buhari’s invitation to the White House focused on the fact that Buhari was “the first leader of an African country to be invited to the White House” and then highlighted President Trump’s comment about African countries being [dumps].
One report included the following:
Buhari and Mr. Trump both sidestepped questions about the president's reported comment about Africa during an Oval Office meeting. Reporters tried to get Mr. Buhari to address it. When asked if the president's past comments came up during their meetings Buhari responded, "I'm very careful with what the press says about [people] other than myself, I'm not sure about the validity or whether that allegation against the president was true or not, the best thing for me is to keep quiet.”
President Trump said, "We didn't discuss it. You do have some countries that are in very bad shape. We didn't discuss it because the president knows me and knows where I'm coming from.”
The very serious issue between Nigeria and the U.S. is defeating the evil Boko Haram jihadists, who have murdered thousands of innocent Nigerians, and kidnapped thousands of schoolgirls (and boys), forcing those who are Christian to convert to Islam…
