3. For what reason were three Indonesian Christian women recently arrested? Under what law were the women convicted? What precautions had the three women taken to ensure that they were not violating that law?
4. The UN proclaimed Resolution 36/55 in 1981.

-As a member of the UN, Indonesia is expected to abide by all resolutions proclaimed by the UN. What freedoms do all people have under Article 5, #1 of Resolution 36/55? (Scroll down for Article 5)
-How does Article 5, #2 justify the actions of the three Christian women in Java?
-How has the Indonesian court violated the rights of the children, their parents, and the three Sunday school teachers?
5. How do you know that the Indonesian government has little power or inclination to treat their Christian citizens fairly? (Give 2 examples, found in para. 5 & 6)
6. Why do you think there is no outrage in the "moderate" Muslim community in Indonesia over the treatment of the women?
7. Why do you think that there is no outrage from the international community (which loudly and persistently condemned American "abuses" at Camp GITMO) over the violation of these Christians' rights?
8. Do a search on Amnesty International's website for information about these women. What do you find? Why do you think this is so?
