2. For JORDAN:
a) list the who, what, where and when of the news item
b) How does the Jordanian government currently attempt to control what is said/done by imams in mosques? Be specific.
c) How many mosques are there in Jordan? How many of these mosques are led by imams who aren’t legal?
d) If the government hasn’t been successful thus far in prohibiting illegal/radicalized mosques, how successful do you think they will be now? Will Saudi Arabia or U.S. money help eliminate the mosques? Explain your answer.
3. For TURKEY:
a) list the who, what, where and when of the news item
b) Why did the Syrian Kurds flee into Turkey?
c) Reuters reports: “U.S. forces have bombed ISIS in Iraq at the request of the government, but it is unclear when or where any military action might take place in Syria.” The Turkish government will not help the Kurds against ISIS as the Kurds in Turkey are named a terrorist group for fighting against the Turkish government already. Should the U.S. bomb ISIS in Syria? Ask a parent what he/she thinks.
4. For RUSSIA:
a) list the who, what, where and when of the news item
b) Who does the BBC imply is responsible for the attack on its reporters?
c) What is believed to be the motive for the attack? Be specific.
