Weekly Example of Media Bias - April 20, 2011
1. What types of bias does Julia Seymour's report illustrate?
2. Seymour states: "Yet most of the network stories about gas prices didn't even ask if [the Obama administration's] policies were contributing to the rise. During the Bush years, the networks did the opposite - criticizing the president for gas prices, asking what the government should do and even entertaining far-left conspiracy theories about gas prices manipulation and election outcomes." Ask a parent if he/she thinks this is a fair assertion, (does the media display a double-standard between Republican George Bush and Democrat Barack Obama) and to explain why or why not.
