1. The purpose of an editorial/commentary is to explain, persuade, warn, criticize, entertain, praise or answer. What do you think is the purpose of this editorial? Explain your answer.

3. To what motive do the editors attribute the leaking of our military information?
4. In paragraph 7, the editors assert: "It should go without saying that the principal purpose of a military strike is to have a military effect. Political statements can always be delivered politically, and U.S. airmen should not be put in harm's way to deliver what amounts to an extremely loud diplomatic demarche. That's especially so with a 'do something' strike that is, in fact, deliberately calibrated to do very little."
Do you agree or disagree? Explain your answer.
