The health and preservation of free societies requires that students and citizens understand the underlying principles and institutions that distinguish free societies from those which are not free. The underlying principles and institutions of capitalism include individual rights, private property, contracts, voluntary associations, entrepreneurship, the rule of law, limited government, and free trade.
