1. In a press conference with President Trump this week, Elon Musk described how he and his team at DOGE, as they have begun to evaluate several federal government agencies, have discovered much incompetence and/or fraud and waste. He pointed out that if the bureaucracy is in charge — “then what meaning does democracy actually have?” He noted, “If the people cannot vote and have their will be decided by their elected representatives in the form of the president, the Senate, and the House, then we don’t live in a democracy. We live in a bureaucracy.”
