NOTE: When Israel bombed the facility in Syria, the belief was that the Israeli military may have been acting on intelligence that North Korea was helping Syria build facilities to make nuclear weapons. Israel believed that Syria would use these weapons against them. Possibly to avoid forcing Syria into war by publicly acknowledging the bombing, the Israeli government enforced strict censorship rules on its media, and banned even senior officials from discussing the raid. Syria denied the existence of a nuclear weapons facility, and only admitted that Israel breached its airspace, but insists it did not bomb anything.
