1. Describe Google’s self-driving cars. (see para. 1-2, 9-10)
2. What does Google plan to do with the cars? How could they be used? (see para, 3, 6, 8, 11)
3. a) Define prototype and autonomous as used in the article.
b) How does this new prototype differ from the cars Google developed in 2009?
4. Which states currently have laws allowing testing of self-driving cars on public roads?
5. List at least 3 potential problems with states/cities allowing self-driving cars on the roads in the future.
6. Do you have your drivers license yet? Which would you prefer: to drive your own car, or to have your car drive you? Explain your answer.
7. What do you think of Google’s endeavors to branch out with the development of Google glass and Google cars, as well as the purchase of a high altitude drone company (Titan Aerospace) and several robotics companies (including Boston Dynamics which makes the Big Dog robot for the U.S. military)? 8. a) One reader's reaction to the self-driving car is that "it seems like Google is trying to control everything we do." What do you think of this assertion? Explain your answer.
b) Many people who are opposed to "big business" are not opposed to Google as a "big business." Why do you think this is so?
