Consider the comments made by members of two Chicago gangs - David and Zacc Massie. Even gang members are mad about the way people who enter the country illegally are being treated.

CHALLENGE - Consider the following:

When Donald Trump left office in 2020, illegal border crossings were at a record low. President Joe Biden opened the borders when he took office.

Republican Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota wrote in a resolution in March 2024:

"Under the Biden administration, the United States has experienced the worst border security crisis in American history.

After being sworn in, President Biden immediately took executive action to reverse the Trump administration’s successful immigration policies, including halting construction of the wall at the southern border, suspending the Remain in Mexico policy, and lifting the travel ban from certain high-risk countries.

The open border policies implemented by the Biden administration have incentivized nearly 9,300,000 illegal immigrants to arrive at the southwest border..."

President Biden put Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of securing the border in 2021. She did nothing to stem the tide. When NBC's Lester Holt asked her why she hadn't gone to the border (to see the situation firsthand), she said "I haven't been to Europe either" and laughed.

Republicans say that Democrats in Washington want open borders as they know the migrants they bring in will vote Democrat for years to come.

Democrats say the way to solve the border crisis is to find out why people want to leave their countries, and address the "root cause."

Consider the situation in Chicago, as well as other cities across the country. The people being hurt are not those in affluent communities, but those who are struggling and need help, not more crime.
