INTERESTING NOTE: In the U.S., Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy cosponsored an amendment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address concerns related to global climate change. But he opposed a plan to use wind power to replace electric power plants and the pollution they cause in Nantucket sound. Sen. Kennedy has a home overlooking the proposed wind farm. The wind farm would include windmills with 130 wind turbines. Each would reach 400 feet to the top of the propeller - taller than the Statue of Liberty. And they would be spread over 24 square miles.
