7. According to an NBC video posted in the USA Today article "Tenions High..."
Approximately 200 students walked out of class yesterday and marched to City Hall to protest the wearing of the American Flag in school on Cinco de Mayo.
[Mexican-American students explained their protest by saying:]
"it was our holiday - all of the Americans thought that they could wear their flags and just flaunt them in front of us"
and
"this is MY culture, this is MY family, this is MY race"
When they returned to school later, administrators ...escorted the students to a lecture hall to hear more about why the students felt compelled to take their protest to the streets.
