Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Remember that USA Today poll showing that a 53% majority of Americans disapprove of ObamaCare and a 41% plurality strongly disapproves? According to a tweet from Jordan Burke, an assistant communications director at the White House, this proves that Republican ObamaCare opponents are “yielding” to a “fringe viewpoint.”
He justifies this by tweeting his own graphic reinterpretation of the results. According to the White House, what really matters is that a vast majority of Americans, 69%, “Approve or Disapprove, but want to make it work.” Only 23% “Disapprove, want to make it fail.”
Of course, an even vaster majority approve or disapprove, and want to make it work or fail. Only 8% “don’t know.” By Burkean logic then, claims that the public is ignorant about ObamaCare are also false.
