Tiny puppy fit into spoon at birth
A puppy named after one of the world’s biggest pop stars could set the world’s record for tiniest dog.
Animal rescuers in Northern California say the female Dachshund mix, named Beyonce, was so small at birth that she weighed just 1 ounce and could fit into a spoon. At two weeks, she was about the size of a business card.
At 3 weeks old, Beyonce is now about the size of an iPhone.
Beyonce, whose caretakers wanted to give her a “big” name, is not yet up for adoption, though the foundation has received hundreds of requests from people who want to take her home. When she’s stronger – and a bit bigger – the foundation will decide whether to give her away.

A Swedish man learned that the hard way after he sent Twitter messages to local police complaining that there were frequent speeding drivers on his street and law enforcement should crack down on these dangerous law breakers.

Rented Ferrari helps crack smuggling ring
Workers at a Los Angeles company that rents pricy Ferrari sports cars were shocked when they noticed that a GPS locator on the vehicle was mapping out a trip to Hong Kong.
It turned out the car, worth at least $240,000, was on a ship carrying stolen cars that was about to head overseas.
Cops managed to seize the vehicle before it got away and found that the thieves had about $1.5 million in stolen sports cars. The thieves apparently operated by renting or buying luxury cars under false identities, defrauding rental agencies, banks and insurance companies. Investigators said the recovered cars, worth about $1.5 million in the United States, could be sold for twice that in Asia.
He couldn’t tell a Mohawk from a real hawk.
Derrill Rockwell, of Grand Junction, Colo., was furious at a big red bird that had been annoying his cats.
So when he thought he spotted it on top of a hill 90-feet away, he grabbed his rifle and went hunting.
But it turned out to be a 23-year-old woman’s red Mohawk hairdo.
She survived the shooting, and the birdbrain got five years’ probation.
“This was one of the more interesting cases I’ve worked,’’ Detective Sean Crocker deadpanned.
